Twilight theme wedding
Romantic atmosphere of the meadow covered in fog, mystic vibe and accents straight from the film. Beloved by many, Twilight saga can be a unique inspiration for your wedding theme. It can be merged into vintage wedding only with subtle elements, or you can go all the way and create yourself full themed twilight wedding.
How to organize a Twilight themed wedding and reception? What elements are necessary to give the young couple and their guests the atmosphere of this famous saga? We give you tips and advice on what to choose: from the wedding venue to such details as invitations and the cake’s design.
An outdoor wedding
The first and the most important element of this style is definitely the outdoor wedding and everything in the atmosphere of idyll and naturalness. The place – preferably a garden, orchard, forest – in any case we use nature, which in itself creates an atmosphere like from the Breaking Dawn part with actual Bella and Edward’s wedding ceremony from Twilight series. The setting for such a wedding should be very natural. The path to the altar should be strewn with flowers – lots of flowers.
Classic party rentals might not work here, and you might be forced to look deeper for the perfect venue for you. It can be a forest venue with wooden roofed area to place tables and dancing floor for guests.
The altar itself – simple, but impressive. A gate made of greenery, under which the bride and groom will swear their love to each other. We suggest gorgeous bouquets of gypsophilas as a very impressive way to decorate the altar and a nice way of replacing more exotic white flowers shown in the movie wedding scene. If your budget is high enough, you can be tempted to recreate a flower roof over the whole reception area as in the movie itself. It will be something astonishing, but be prepared to pay a small fortune for such installation.
Wedding colours
Undoubtedly white and green in decor of the wedding altar! Additionally, you can also add lilac, pale pink or gold. For sure, we stay in the climate of pastels. If you take a closer look at the scene from the movie, you can see that there are almost no lively, bright colours in the decor and even guest outfits. They are all dressed in the pastel shades of ecru, grey, pink and purple. Floral design is mainly white and ecru. You should resign from classic table runner for every table and use materials such as satin for your table cloths.
Wedding invitations
Simple, classic and extremely elegant, but almost ascetic. Calligraphic letter will be ideal for a font of your invitations. We also suggest using lacquer to seal the invitations – it looks extremely impressive and gives an old-fashioned atmosphere.
Creations for bride and groom and the wedding procession
The styling of the bride and groom is also important here. Simplicity, elegance, classics, moderation – this is what we would bet on. In the film, Edward (and the rest of the men side of the family) were dressed in classic black outfits. Edward had a white bow tie to go with it. Bella wore a silk, bright white body-flowing wedding dress with a large back neckline (a replica of the Bella’s wedding dress is even available on the market). This was accompanied by a white bouquet and very long lace-decorated veil. Hair and make-up very natural. The hairstyle was very light, and the veil was pinned up with a very impressive pin not on the top of her head, but to the bun that was at the back.
And the bridesmaids, who do not actually accompany the bride, but can be dressed in lilac like Alice and Rosalie – long, light dresses with deep necklines.
And the bridal bouquet – we suggest a classic white one, e.g. a combination of eustoma, peonies and cantades, but a bouquet of gypsophilas, lily of the valley or tulips is also ideal.
Cakes and sweets
They’re not in the film, but … we were tempted to imagine what they should be. To keep everything coherent, we propose a very simple, elegant cake in white. It can be in a version with live flowers as the only decoration. Sweets should also be kept in minimalistic decor, and in classic flavours.
The wedding reception
We bet on light as the main decoration – candles, torches, lanterns and garlands. And to this, small bouquets of field flowers (or stylized as field flowers) in low glass vases. The ideal – long wooden tables placed outdoors with lights hanging above them… But remember to have a plan B in case of bad weather with roofed area.
Wedding photography – a souvenir for many years
We bet on naturalness and nature as a background for romantic photographs. Let’s choose a forest, a lake, a meadow with violet flowers and a fog. I can be hard to find the identical meadow as it is in the movie, but something similar can do a charm, preferably at sunrise with light mists or at dawn in the warmth of the setting sun.
